After 28 years adrift in space, the remaining crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire awaken above the mysterious Forerunner installation known as the Ark. Captain James Cutter soon finds himself locked in battle with the Banished - a monstrous splinter group of the Covenant led by the ruthless Jiralhanae chieftain Atriox.
