Vehicle missions when you're reliant on these NPCs to shoot in the gunner seat is so triggering for me. I was hoping in future iterations of this game it'd get better, but it's still just as awful as ever. I do really enjoy the diversity of these two missions so far.

So I decided that I will be streaming this campaign on Twitch. At the same time, I will still be uploading them in higher quality onto YouTube for me to look back on. Sorry my webcam is in the wrong place, I didnt realize it was covering the radar while playing. Ill definitely move it up. This time around I will also be editing out the cutscenes just because it feels redundant to include them here? People watching this video likely play the games themselves so theyll see the cutscenes on their own. Ill probably highlight the missions on Twitch so the full attempt is available, but on YouTube Ill still be clipping out most of the deaths unless the total mission time is reasonable. And honestly after my first impression of doing the first 3 missions, I will likely not be clipping out deaths just because Im not dying as much as I did in Halo 1. Im disappointed, they made the game easier. When I bought this game, I didnt even think about the possibility of them changing the difficulty of the game. I thought that the main changes would be level design, new weapons, and the prequel missions. But wow they made so many changes to make the game easier and Im really sad about that. After playing through Combat Evolved and truly struggling in some moments and then reaching those same moments again last night, I could tell a dramatic difference. Some checkpoints would always take me 10+ attempts and in this version it took me idk 3 max? Even when boarding the ship in Truth and Reconciliation, that was a key memory for me and took me 3 hours for that one checkpoint. I think that was likely a mix of me still not being as familiar with the game so I was probably not as skilled as I feel now, but I think I died once last night at that checkpoint. They allow you to use the energy swords that the elites drop which changes everything. Also the layout change there I was not a fan of. The original forced you to use the layout with the hallways to survive and evade and properly do that checkpoint. Ive seen mostly praise on Reddit for this game and I guess Im just different. Sure the graphics are beautiful they did do a good job on that, but I play games to be challenged and I love when things actually take effort. So gameplay will be the primary thing I focus on for a game like this, and knowing how much they changed really saddens me. I cant look at this release positively at all in comparison to the experience I had playing Halo 1-3.
- Some levels there are more friendly AI and they also respawn when they die now.
- Your health bar is like a second shield... it will recharge on its own. What? Why did they need to change that? I really liked the health pack in the first game, it rewarded you for exploring and knowing where they were. Why would you have a shield and then a health bar thats actually another shield. Stupid.
- Plasma rifle doesnt overheat at all now or if it does it takes a LONG time of holding down your shot before it happens. Why make this gun easier to use? It was fine the way it was.
- Assault rifles, needlers, plasma rifles all have the ability to scope now which I dont like either. I liked that certain weapons had scope which it made sense for, now having nearly all being able to scope is unnecessary.
- Allowing certain weapons during certain missions makes them so much easier. Truth and Reconciliation ship boarding checkpoint was hard because the elites had energy swords and despite killing them you were unable to pick them up. Now that you can wield them that checkpoint is so much easier. Dislike.
- Weapon and vehicle sounds in this game are similar to Halo 4 which I strongly dislike. Sniper rifle sound is no longer satisfying, it sounds like someone grunting to take a shit. Needler sound and projectiles have changed. Projectiles seem to shoot faster with less travel time which made it less satisfying to use for me. I actually enjoyed watching them travel and track through the air especially if the enemy didnt have any barriers to hide behind. They also seem slightly nerfed? I remembered it being my go to weapon against elites when they were out in the open and a full mag would almost always kill any color elite. Now it seems like I have to always reload at least once.
- They made things like overshield and camouflage activated now. You can hold onto it and then use it when you like. This is mainly a preference thing, but I preferred the old version where it was used the moment you picked it up that way you cant hold it for specific areas.
- Sprint is spammable with no cooldown, why?
Im sure Ill come across more as I go through the missions but Im just sad that the people who design games nowadays think they must be easy/accessible. There are mission difficulties for a reason....... if someone finds it too hard they can LOWER that difficulty. Why make the hardest difficulty easier?
