VanOaksProps | Halloween Grave Marker Prop @VanOaksProps | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
Learn the secrets to making anything look like old cast iron using common household items and a bit of craft paint!
A bit of a backstory to this build...
A few years ago, while visiting cemeteries in New England, I stumbled across a cast-iron, perpetual care grave marker. These are designed as a way to identify which headstones should be tended to by cemetery staff.
It’s the type of detail that you may not see in a California cemetery but since our Halloween display isn’t in the style of a typical California cemetery, I thought it would fit right in and be a nice, last-minute detail.
So join me for another quick Halloween tutorial, although this technique could be used for cosplay, model making, and general prop building, too.
