45th parallel north is known as the halfway point between the Equator and the North Pole.
The actual halfway point between the Equator and the North Pole is actually at:
45° 8' 45.7" N / 45° 8.76166666666' N / 45.14602777777°
because Earth isn't a perfect sphere, but actually an oblate spheroid.
