"This felt more like the biggest quality of life update. Obviously, nothing to major happened with the expectation of developer commentary. I will be listing to those on my own time.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting Valve to do anything on the 20th anniversary. Considering there's a considerably large gap of time in between Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Half-Life Alyx. During Half-Life's anniversary, upon seeing the official documentary, Gabe seemed completely disinterested in Half-Life. He admits it was an important stepping stone in Valve's history but it sounded like he wants to work on bigger things.
I will be playing the episodes and Lost Coast if I haven't already done that in the future. I am expecting nothing much has changed but it wouldn't feel right if I just made a video just about Half-Life 2's big update.
Also, yes I will be making videos about custom Half-Life 2 content. I already made videos on custom source maps/mods. This update made things significantly easier for me to look for things to cover since modders are bringing their stuff over to the workshop as I type this out.
Overall, I would highly recommend you get the Half-Life series. I have recorded this during the anniversary but I am 100% this video will come out after the sale that makes Half-Life 2 free is over...Oops...You should probably support good developers anyways.
