The song is "That Long Train Ride" by DJ Dain, which is a remix of Triage at Dawn (the song played after Ravenholm). A fan posted the remix on a Beta-oriented forum a few years back, and just called it "Path of Borealis". Recalling the only Valve employee he could think of at the time, they just put down "Victor Antonov". Antonov is not even a composer, and instead did concepts and art direction for settings in the Half Life canon.
I feel like this song pretty well summarizes the feeling feeling of Half life 2.
