My Name is Tim Rowell and I’ll be playing Half Irish for the 49th Annual Santa Barbara Old-Time Fiddlers’ contest.

Half Irish comes from fiddler Owen “Snake” Chapman
Chapman who was born near the small town of Canada up in Pike County, Eastern Kentucky in 1919. Owen learned banjo and fiddle from his father George and his uncle Hense Chapman.

I first heard this at the Lake Genero Fiddlin’ Bear festival in Pennsylvania played by fiddler Christina Crowder.
