This song gives me such MCU/DC comics vibes and this pairing originally started as a request for a collab part but since that didn't happen, I decided to turn it into something extra and create a whole plot with these two. Besides, I've had the idea of Joel as Ghost Rider for a while and Madelaine would obviously make a perfect Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy.

Since I turned into a sloth this year, I consider this my bday gift to myself, since its the closest upload to the actual date (though it took me way longer than expected to finish it, mostly because I kind of didnt want to watch all episodes, knowing Ill need more).
The Darkling is my favourite character since day 1 (not just because Ben plays him and because he is so much more human in the show) and Ive always loved Genya since first appearance. If youve been a around my channel for long enough, you might also know I have a weakness for Ben/Madelaine ships and I already have one Darkling/Genya video with them, so as much as I love the actress in the show and her potrayal of Genya, I dont think Ill ever change Madelaine when it comes to this ship in particular. Also, I really wanted to turn this into an AU, loosely based on the two novellas in the Grishaverse (The Tailor & The Demon in the Woods) since they show Genya & Darklings POV, but with a happy ending for them, though the angst is just too irresistible, so I had to add a bit of drama. The Darkling did some very poor choices in regards to Genya and she has every bit of right to hate him and want to hurt him (as she does with her betrayal in the end), but I do think he truly cares for her and sees her true potential, which is why he puts her through so much pain, though I dont think he intended all of it, tbh. And as short-lived as it was, their connection truly has the potential to turn into something great, especially if you just read that short moment they share in The Tailor.

this is the first ever story to sprung out of an original character i have created. over the years ive changed both characters face claims never feeling as if they fully fit the role but i think this is the closest i could ever get to their portrayal.
this video started as yet another project i was sure to be archived and deleted after some time, but this song was so perfect for them & i especially loved this slowed/reverbed version of it. ive been in a vidding slump for months now but i managed to finish this video in two weeks time. its far from perfect mostly because i had very vague direction since most of this story is being rewritten so a lot is changing from the original but i focused on the aesthetics and vibes of it rather than the storyline itself.

Phew... Honestly, I didnt think this would take me so long but it took me almost a week to finish this video but I wouldnt have it any other way because its perfect right now. STORY: A couple of weeks after the accident, Ellen realizes how much shes taken for granted when even the most mundane everyday tasks prove to be a strugger for her as someone who isnt used to the complete darkness all around her. Frustrated but mostly scared that she is no longer and may never be again the woman she used to be, the one with whom Benjamin fell in love with, she starts distancing herself from her husband.
Feeling her slipping away from his grip, Benjamin tries his best to be the source of support his wife needs in these first months of adjusting to her new normal, but there is only so much a human can take and as a form of relief he turns back to an old habit of his.
His late nights out, coming home smelling of alcohol, further escalate the tension between them, pushing Ellen to the darkest places of her own mind, who has now turned into her greatest enemy. And if they want to save their marriage, theyll have to start working together again, as a team.
P.S. I originally had another song in mind for this part, but I had serious second thoughts on it and luckily I found this gem by accident, which fits perfectly with the edgy vibe I wanted to create for this part (since its all about tension and anger, after all), so I hope youll like it! Also, its so nice to see this series getting such positive feedback, it only inspires me to keep going with it! Only three more parts now. ❤️
