For years, she struggled with traction alopecia, a form of hair loss caused by tight hairstyles like braids, weaves, and ponytails. To cope, she often wore scarves and wigs to hide the thinning, especially in the back of her scalp. Her goal is simple: to wear a cute updo without worry and finally embrace her natural hair.
During her consultation, Crystal and the medical team reviewed the extent of her hair loss. The most significant thinning was toward the back, which posed a challenge for full coverage in a single procedure. Two options were presented: spread grafts across the entire area for more coverage with lower density, or focus on packing grafts into the front priority zones for a fuller, more natural look where it matters most. Crystal chose the latter.
Post-procedure, Crystal shared that everything went smoothly with minimal discomfort. Like many patients, she found the numbing injections at the beginning to be the most uncomfortable part, but even that wasn’t too bad. The team successfully addressed zones one and two, creating a strong foundation for a natural-looking result. If needed, zone three can be filled in during a future session.
