This is a song I’ve always wanted to sing. Seablove and Shun Narita’s collaborations are all beautiful but this one just strikes me in such a way that I can’t stop listening. It’s really special to me so I wanted to share it in a way I know people will listen.
I understand the content is sensitive, but I think it’s a realistic viewpoint I haven’t seen much. And although I usually try to stay out of the “what does it mean?” discourse in the comments, I just want to specifically make the point that this isn’t to romanticize taking one’s life. It considers those left behind and how they might try to make sense of it and come to terms with it.

**The letter said “笑った顔が好きでした” so it was technically in past tense

We watch the dreary scenery
Even standing here, I couldn’t understand a thing
I couldn’t even really, properly come to grieve
Holding back tears barely shed, breathe in again
Lifting my eyes, I stare surprised
At a beautiful sky
From the roof, looking up into the air, you can see
The beauty, a starry sky I’ve never seen
If it’s anything at all like the sky, you saw on that night
Then couldn’t help but feel somewhat glad inside
Standing here with the night, feeling the wind underneath
I’m thinking over the future for me
Can the final thing I see be the sky, that you saw too?
