It works in the UK on 220-240 volts AC Only!It has been in development for some years and was just released on to the market.I consider the looks, the practical functionality and the likelihood of a repair being possible now and in the future, accidents do happen and I repair GHD products with a dog chewed mains cable most days.This is quite bulky and at 535 grams, not including the cable, may not suit everyone. I found the motor noise to be way less than a standard hairdryer.The plates heat up to the optimum 185 degs as do previous models of GHD.The hot air flow is relatively weak especially when compared to a hairdryer.My main issue with the product was the length of the cool down period from 185 degs C to the 120 degs before the hairdryer side could kick in again. It just took too long for me to be happy with that.I am concerned with the flimsy feel of the arm with the switch. It may be that the flimsy nature of the arm MAY stop it snapping if accidentally trodden on but only time will tell.I do not like the arms hitting together everytime I tried to slide the on /off switch or press the button.The mains cable is the same as fitted to earlier GHD products and hopefully we can offer a repair service for that if you accidentally damage your cable.Overall I feel that this is a very expensive product, with a 2 year warranty, might not be suitable for everyone due to the bulk and weight. Mr Carve M1 Pro Galvo Calibration Fail Trevs Shed 2023-01-21 | I give up. I am thinking adjustment may not even be possible on this machine. The videos show where I got to before giving up.To correct the geometry issue I had I deleted the BslAppSimple folder, downloaded a fresh version from Mediafire account and started again. Measurements and geometry were then back to normal.I think this machine and the software is a bit of a lash up to be honest.I can lase a perfect 70mm X 70mm square but the calibration image is all over the place. Mr Carve M1 Pro Alignment Problems Trevs Shed 2023-01-20 | No need to watch this one, it was more for my benefit and testing the PIP with the second camera.So, the two screws holding the head support column were loose. That was part of the problem. The next problem was the laser lens which was not parallel to the bed, that was corrected by adding a 0.8mm washer to the bottom screw after loosening all the screws. All previous settings were still in force.It is quite tricky getting items square and aligned correctly on the pins of the chuck, slightly easier in the jaws.Each letter can be checked with the Red Mark option using the next button, this is useful for checking alignment over the full length of the text.Spacing between the letters may need to be adjusted.Copper and brass engraved very well. No further information was given by the commentor.Some research today proved that all versions of this product from all market places appear to be equally flawed.Main concerns.Item is not 500 watts but lower and is not suitable for the UK mains supply.Although I saw nothing that alerted me to that fact.Mine has no rating plate or label.The item is not fused.The plug does not conform to UK standards. Pin protection sleeves are too short, distance from the pins to the edge of the plug are 5mm but are 10mm on a standard BS1363 UK plug.Live parts are accessible without the need for tools. This references the fact that the grill covering the heating elements can be pulled off by hand and exposes the live elements. No mains equipment should have live parts accessible that easily and should, for example, need a screwdriver to remove a cover before access to any live parts is possible.Contact Amazon, ebay or the seller for a refund. Amazon require the product back but will collect for free via Royal Mail. This customer opened a dispute with Pay Pal, didn't contact me, Pay Pal took the money back, then refunded the customer and then charged me £12 on top. The customer has the goods and the tracking on Royal Mail, Deutche Post and DHL all say it was delivered.But Pay Pal have rejected my tracking. It says delivered in Germany. They want it to say delivered and the customers full address. They then say they don't have an address on file for the customer. So how the hell can they prove the item wasn't delivered correctly and then reject my appeal to get the money and £12 fee back???Check their terms, if Pay Pal has no address on file for your customer you have absolutely no protection.How do you know if they have an address?Examine the transaction in your Pay Pal account, it will tell you there if they have an address for the customer. Low CO2 Laser Power Output and using Lightburn? Solved! Trevs Shed 2023-01-01 | I have now solved the problem of low laser power on my RDL4040 CO2 Laser. The problem was being caused by Lightburn and the Ruida controller! It seems that the Ruida controller will select the Laser Minimum setting you entered into it if the speed you selected is below a certain speed and will not ramp up to the higher power that you have set in Laser Power Max. This is set in the Ruida under Machine Settings/Start Speed. I tried cutting 5mm acrylic again at the maximum current of 16ma for my 50 watt machine. But the meter only went to about 3ma, this equates to 5% power and that is what I had set as Lightburns Laser Minimum. Of course setting the laser minimum to 65% solved the problem. I assume this is a sensible safety feature. That has cost a few days but I am now very familiar with the machine, aligning everything and the importance of having a milliamp meter fitted. This will apply to anyone using Lightburn on a CO2 laser. Fitting a milliamp meter to your CO2 laser machine Trevs Shed 2023-01-01 | Being sold a CO2 laser with no milliamp meter fitted is like being given and then driving a high performance car with no rev counter. You don't know the idle speed, where the power band is or what the maximum RPM is. Inevitably that is going to end in disaster.Sellers have no excuse for supplying a £2000 machine without a £14 milliamp meter fitted to it.Please fit one as soon as you get your machine, check the manufacturers specs for the tube so you can make sure you never over drive it. If they can't give you the specs don't buy the machine or the tube you may be thinking of ordering!!!This milliamp meter has proved to be highly accurate when compared to a decent multimeter. Stay with the analogue meter as digitals can lag significantly at the lower end of the market.I include the figures obtained from my supposed 50 watt laser.I think it is highly likely that this laser is not producing anywhere near 50 watts and is more likely nearer 40 watts or less.The meter can be purchased next day from Amazon.amzn.to/3X1YWg9The case can be 3D printed.thingiverse.com/thing:3872863In my case the cutouts for the cable weren't required so I edited the file in Fusion 360 to remove them. Red Dragon CO2 Laser RDL4040 problems Trevs Shed 2022-12-30 | Having only used the laser for some Christmas cutting out on 3mm ply this problem wasn't obvious until I needed to cut out some jigs for the new Mr Carve M1 Pro fibre laser from 3mm acrylic. The machine simply can't cut through 3mm acrylic at the recommended settings in the Red Dragon Power Calculator for my laser.I spent two days on and off, cleaning and aligning the mirrors etc. I also had to adjust the tube position as the laser was not hitting the first mirror in the centre, whilst this isn't crucial the fact that the tube is not fitted to an adjustable holder is somewhat annoying!Whilst I initially ignored the damage to the underside of the machine, I did mention it when the machine was installed, I am beginning to get annoyed by the damage, the fact that the machine didn't work unless the water flow sensor was bypassed when it was installed, the fact that I have had to fix that myself with a new water pump at £75 because the supplied one couldn't produce enough flow to trigger the flow sensor switch, the bad earth wiring and other things, there has been no offer to compensate me for any of these things and no communication other than an email saying the points I raised will be passed on and of course the machine is now not safely usable...I will be fitting the new milliamp meter once the housing has finished printing and will film that later.Useful parts are listed below.DC Milliamp Meter - amzn.to/3vqDsO3Heatshrink tubing set - amzn.to/3Z1xD7qCrimp connector set - amzn.to/3VAFtC1Solder heatshrink wire connector kit - amzn.to/3VuWjlzTV Engineers Forumt-m-f.ukGHD Hair Straightener Repairsghd-repair.co.ukGifts for friends and family.gift-parlour.co.uk

Reset SeaCAD, BslAppSimple and Mr Carve to default settings Trevs Shed 2022-12-19 | If you have messed up your settings you can reset everything back to default values a number of ways.Delete your SeaCAD/BslAppSimple/Mr Carve software folder, download the software again and run the program. Or delete the config files for the software.The language will be reset to Chinese but we will fix that as well.Make a backup of these files if you have your machine working perfectly just in case you mess the settings up at any point.
