Welcome to day 11 of the Archaeology Advent! Today we're going to a site that I only just discovered thanks to this advent series.

Today we are going to one of the oldest temple complexes in the world, Ħaġar Qim, in Malta! Ħaġar Qim was built between 3600-3200 BCE, and was probably used for fertility rituals. Evidence has been found for animal sacrifices, and there are even screened doorways that have been suggested to have been used for oracles.
