We are proud to share this new intimate, acoustic recording with you. When we wrote "Great Mother" we were thinking about the earth, about how much she carries and how much we keep asking of her. But the longer we play the song, the more we hear a second story inside it.
Everything worth loving moves in seasons, the hard ones and the beautiful ones, and you need both. What looks like an ending is usually just a turn in the circle. That is why one version of this song was never going to be enough.
We sat down behind two grand pianos in an old church, transformed into a studio. Studio 150 in Amsterdam is a place where you can hear a pin drop. Every sound feels exposed. Every movement matters. It was challenging and intimate, but the sensitivity of the space invited us to listen more deeply and brought out the very best in our playing.
Let us know in the comments where you’re watching from. We read every single one.
