Remember when I had a really bad case of BV and didn’t have “classic” symptoms? It was because I had a secret h pylori infection that caused the BV. I drink lots of caffeine drinks every day, and I knew that the acidity of caffeine drinks can interfere with my treatment with antibiotics…so many antibiotics.
BUT I COULDN’T GIVE UP MY CAFFEINE FOR A WHOLE WEEK!
Caffeine is a performance enhancing drug(a legal one don’t worry) and it can be absorbed in the intestines from consuming drinks or pills. But it can also be absorbed by the Buccal mucosa, nasally, and even through rectal mucosa.
Did you know that some antibiotics can reduce the efficacy of birth control pills, and they have lots of interactions with other prescriptions, foods, and alcohol? I wish more doctors and pharmacists would tell us this when picking up antibiotics!!!
