Dovefoam Speedpaint The_CavyStorm 2024-02-01 | A Christmas gift for a good friend of mine! I meant to upload the speedpaint about a month ago and forgot ^^;• Character: Dovefoam (belongs to my friend Dragon, from ClanGen)• Programs: ibisPaint X to draw, CuteCut Pro and then CapCut to edit (CuteCut killed the quality for storage reasons so I had to restart and try to match the edits I’d done :/)• Time taken: 9.5 hours• Song: ¿ by Bring Me The Horizon featuring Halsey youtu.be/VEupjmuEx8g?si=e0MvLAQnjR2ub0z7• Character summary (written by Dragon and edited by me): Dovefoam was born to FloodClan’s first deputy, Goldclash, as the middle child to her littermates Quietrain, Shadedfoot, Lightningflash, and Flintkit. As a kit she was very perceptive and quickly picked up that Flintkit was the favorite, though she loved her dad and looked up to him a whole lot, and she wanted his attention. Flintkit died, and just when Dovekit thought that might mean he would look her way, she saw his favoritism shift to Shadedkit instead. Things got a bit better halfway through her apprenticeship, but Goldclash's approach only reinforced her behavior. She was particularly nasty to the younger apprentices and senior warriors, including her own mentor. She had an extremely good mentor though, and she was a diligent apprentice, so she was the first of her siblings to get her warrior name. When Lightningflash became terminally ill and passed away, Dovefoam grew distant from her older siblings. She took out her complicated feelings of grief on others, leading her to butt heads with Wolftimber. While he was generally a silly cat, he still had bad blood with Dovefoam over how she’d treated him as an apprentice and had no issue with telling her off, and this grudge would last for their whole lives. Over the next few years Dovefoam focused on her warrior duties and had a few acquaintances, but she didn’t make any real friends. The closest cat she had was Goldstar, now leader after the previous leader’s death. She did try to rekindle a relationship with Shadedfoot, though that chance was cut unfortunately short. A fire raged through the camp, and Shadedfoot was trapped in the nursery by a flaming branch while trying to save the clan’s kits. Dovefoam begged Wolftimber, who was nearby at the time, to help her pull the branch out of the way and save the cats stuck inside the den. Instead, he followed the deputy’s orders to evacuate their most vulnerable members first and refused to risk himself until that was done.Roughly half the clan was lost in the disaster, Shadedfoot included. Dovefoam was angrier than ever. Her sister was dead, and not even Goldstar seemed to care. She put the blame entirely on Wolftimber, believing Shadedfoot’s death was preventable and that he had let her die. He had to pay the price for his choice, and within a moon Dovefoam had plotted his murder. She used Flymimic, who was grieving the loss of her daughter, as an unwitting accomplice to get access to poppy seeds and get Wolftimber to ingest them. She then lured him out into the territory and poisoned him with deathberries while he was too drowsy to fight back. Dovefoam worked hard to cover her tracks, but the medicine cats quickly deduced that he was murdered and opened an investigation. Just as she’d planned, Flymimic was a suspect. However, Dovefoam got paranoid and started making mistakes. She actively spied on her father, stuck to Flymimic like glue, and even got rid of her apprentice through use of Twoleg traps to ensure she was never suspected. Her fatal mistake came when she intended to dispose of Flymimic in the same way. She didn’t know Flymimic’s questionable history with Twoleg traps, and a combination of guilt and suspicion made Flymimic hesitate. She insisted on reporting it to the deputy, and Dovefoam agreed in order to look innocent. But the damage was already done. It wouldn’t be long before Flymimic realized the truth and told the clan, so she turned herself in. She told a third party, Gullpurr, in hopes that she’d be given a fair trial, but failed to judge that Gullpurr was biased against her and the news of her crime quickly reached Goldstar. With a heavy heart, he exiled his daughter and she met her end as a rogue a few moons later. She did manage to take Gullpurr down with her, killing him just a moon after her exile. She was sent to the Dark Forest for her crimes, where she continues to haunt the clan. Notably, she has terrorized Flymimic’s family, attempted to manipulate Wolftimber’s nephew Scalemark, and forced Flymimic’s son to kill Scalemark’s daughter. She takes pleasure in the suffering she causes, including that of her own father, frail and a shell of his former self. She whispers to him at night as he clings to his remaining lives, asking him if everything he’s done was worth it.
