Been wanting to do something with my footage of wildlife from my trip to Australia this year so thought this would be fun!Had a road trip from Melbourne Australia to Port Douglas earlier this year before the virus hit (flew between Brisbane and Cairns). I'm fascinated by the wildlife over there so always had an ear and eye open for any of it. This is aimed at those thinking of getting into animation or wondering what it's like. Please be aware this is from my point of view alone, and I do not speak for everyone in the industry of course. I've only been working for a year, all in the same studio, so my POV is very small. I just wanted to talk about how I've found my first year and what it's been like. Sorry if I rambled on a lot, I had to cut a bunch out of this because I waffle like crazy. It's been an experience with highs and lows just like anything, and even though I spent years expecting it, it still wasn't what I expected. The creative industry is a strange beast, but an exciting one. If you're looking into getting into the industry yourself, it's tricky to get your foot in the door, don't be disheartened if it doesn't work out right away.

2018 Animation Finchwing 2019-01-05 | Here's a quick overview of my animation over 2018. You can tell I've gotten a bit lazy with editing aha. I'm in reel mode, should probably make a new portfolio reel nextI animated a whole bunch at the beginning of 2018 due to my short film for university, which was finished in May and will be available for sharing this July. After that there's just some bits and pieces I worked on over the year. About a month after I finished the film and my uni course I was hired at an animation studio, so I haven't been able to animate much during that. One of my goals for 2019 however is to juggle my professional and personal work better, so I'm able to complete more personal projects at home such as MAP parts and so on. Finchwing Draws: Spyro the Dragon [MINI] Finchwing 2018-11-22 | Program: Procreate for iPadMusic: Dark Hollow - Spyro Reignited Trilogy OSTI draw a lot more on the iPad recently, and Procreate has the nifty function of being able to save timelapse videos of your art so I thought I'd make a mini speedpaint out of this! Drew the good purple boy to celebrate the new game coming out which I hope to play soon!I didn't realise til after I edited this and everything that the footage cuts out the entire colouring process D: I went back to rerender the timelapse and it keeps cutting it out, so I assume something went wrong with the recording. Sorry about that, I hope you enjoy anyway!If you guys like this I might try to make these mini speedpaints a more frequent thing, as these are really easy and quick to make and I love drawing on procreate !
