Nilmo StudioHey everyone! In this video, I’m taking you along on my journey to build the ultimate Cyberpunk-inspired kinetic lamp for my gaming setup. 💡 It’s been quite the adventure—from using AI to help spark the design to 3D modeling and laser-cutting everything. I even had a few "oops" moments where I accidentally fried three ESP32 boards before getting the power supply just right! I'll show you exactly how the mechanical arms move and how I set up a custom web interface to control all the colors and presets. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I’d love to hear what you think of the final look. Let me know if you’d add something like this to your own desk!

In this episode, I’m taking a simple toy car and completely transforming it into a high-performance RC drift car controlled entirely via WiFi from my phone.
Building version 2 meant starting from scratch to ensure this car could actually pull off drifts. I’ll show you how I redesigned the steering system for precision, integrated an ESP32 for WiFi connectivity, and even added a "Drift Mode" into the custom phone controller app.
In this video, you’ll see:
Toy Car Teardown: Prepping the chassis for its new life. Precision Steering: Using a micro servo and bearings for better control. WiFi Integration: Setting up the ESP32 and motor drivers for phone control. The Controller App: A look at the custom interface with drift and speed modes. What's Next? This is just part one! In the next episode, I'll be finishing the bodywork to bring this car to life and building a dedicated physical drift controller with a real joystick for even better handling.

[D.I.Y]Nilmo Studio2026-06-03 | In this project, I transformed a simple toy car into a fully functional WiFi-controlled RC car using custom electronics, programming, and mechanical modifications.
Hardware used:
• ESP32 Super Mini C3 • DRV8833 Dual Motor Driver • Mini Li-Ion Battery • Two Small DC Motors
The most difficult part of the build was designing the front steering mechanism. Since the original toy car wasn't built for remote control, I had to create a custom steering system from scratch that could fit inside the tiny chassis.
I also programmed the ESP32 myself and designed a custom smartphone controller with an on-screen joystick. The car connects directly over WiFi, allowing it to be controlled entirely from a mobile phone.
In this video you'll see:
• Toy car disassembly • Electronics installation • ESP32 programming • Custom WiFi controller • Steering mechanism design • Assembly process • Final testing and driving footage

In this project, I upgraded a simple white digital clock and rebuilt it using a small gearbox motor, a speed motor system, a Type-C module for modern charging, real copper wire for wiring, and a 3.7V lithium battery for clean portable power.
The goal wasn’t just to modify it — I wanted to redesign it into something more industrial, more mechanical, and more visually satisfying.
The combination of electronics, motion, and custom structure turns this ordinary digital clock into a unique handmade desk piece.
If you enjoy DIY electronics, creative upgrades, mechanical builds, and satisfying transformations, this project is for you.
I’m building projects that combine engineering, aesthetics, and relaxing mechanical motion — and this is just the beginning.
