And I'm back~ oh wow. I just realized I haven't uploaded anything for the past three weeks! Don't worry, I'm still alive and active. I just got super busy with school and my social life.
I've been busy editing a lot this weekend! I have a lot of MEP parts to do. In fact I am still working on a few. I've also got some collabs that I need to work on....so where did this video come from?
Well a friend of mine said that I've only been uploading videos for others, not for myself (MEPs, collabs, contests...) and he's right. But I decided to prove him wrong anyway xD
This video also changes from what I usually edit with, doesn't it? I've been doing a lot of gmvs lately. And I don't think I've ever uploaded a video with only pictures/scans before. Surprisingly I used a comic for this video and not a manga xD
So I recently got into Spider Man :D
Spider Man has always been my favorite super hero for some reason. I grew up with the Sam Raimi films. I was disappointed and confused when they announced they wouldn't be making a Spider Man 4 movie, but instead a "remake", closer to the original comic with a new cast. I had never read the comics, so I was confused as to why this "blond girl", somewhat present in the third Spider Man movie was going to be more focused on as Peter's love interest in the new Amazing Spider Man movie.
Recently I found a mv of what looked like an anime version of Spider Man. It was a tribute to Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy (that "blond girl" I was referring to).
Curious and intrigued, I decided to look up this anime style spider man. I found The Spectacular Spider Man, an american cartoon. I was immediately hooked. I watched all 26 episodes, disappointed that there wasn't a third season.
I enjoyed it, however I was completely lost and confused. Who was this "Gwen Stacy" character? I finally decided to look up Spider Man's world in the original comic online. To my surprise I found out that the story of my childhood super hero I had grown up with, was very different to what I grew up believing. In the Raimi films, Mary Jane is Peter's neighbor. He has always known and been in love with her. She is his only love interest.
Gwen Stacy does appear in the third film, but she isn't shown as an important character. She's just one of Peter Parker's classmates. She does end up dating Peter in the movie, but he was only using her to get back at Mary Jane who had dumped him. I didn't really like her in the movie, but I did feel bad for her that Peter used her.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that in the original comic, Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first love! In fact, Peter met Gwen BEFORE Mary Jane!
I continued researching the comic of the Amazing Spider Man and completely changed how I saw my super hero. Especially when I found out about Gwen's "fate" with Peter. And when I saw that picture (0:08)....
So many emotions overcame my mind....then I heard that song. And the two mixed and wouldn't leave my mind. I had to work on MEP parts and yet....my inspiration for this video was too strong....forgive me xD
So yeah, I now prefer Gwen and Peter as a couple! I am also looking really forward to seeing the new Amazing Spider Man movie. I was disappointed to not have seen it in theaters last summer.
Also if anybody knows and could tell me where and how I could read the Amazing Spider Man comics online, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
