Hi Everyone, for those of us in the UK I hope you are enjoying Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night. As I uploaded a Halloween video and regular Christmas videos, I thought that I'd share another UK celebration which traditionally falls on 5th November, however, as I type this on 4th November I can hear fireworks. Here is a selection of shots I took at a couple of difference firework displays for Guy Fawkes from my Google photos. Again, this was just filmed for friends and family initially, hence a few in portrait mode which I don't usually do when uploading to YouTube. I hope you enjoy.
The nursery rhyme (below) refers to the Gunpowder Plot. This took place actually on the 5th November, 1605. Guy Fawkes along with others attempted to blow up the House of Lords (Parliament), fortunately it failed and Guy Fawkes was captured, the others fled only to be caught later.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and the Parliament
Three score barrels of powder below
Poor old England to overthrow
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match
