Another one of Randy's matches from the 2013 Aeria Gladiator Tournament. *This* is the reason why I've laughed and scoffed at the term "pedal" that has been thrown around GunZ for the past few years, because of players like Fallen Angel. Fallen Angel was notorious for having a playstyle which centered around circling opponents spamming sideways butterfly while abusing his euro ping as hard as he can.
In recent GunZ years, anyone who didn't bum rush you and play aggressively 100% of the match got labeled as being a cheap pedal noob, including myself. The reason this is funny to me is because in the olden gladiator days before pedal was even a term that was used, we had to fight idiots who fought like Fallen Angel regularly, this was back before it was taboo to not have one universally accepted playstyle of "come forward the entire time". I feel like the reason I got criticized a lot is because I was an old player playing in the newer generation and I still retained some of my oldgen tendencies which I couldn't break.
What I think the problem is with GunZ players is that they have no patience, they just want to bow and bum rush each other and have a fast paced round. But the truth of the matter is that there are some opponent's who you can't defeat by simply bum rushing them. Just look at how Randy deals with this guy, he had to bide his time and pick his openings and not get overly aggressive. I think the ping in this fight was over 100, which makes it tough to capitalize on Fallen's missed massives and any other openings to exploit. He also spams sideways block rush without ever approaching for some of the rounds. As far as I'm concerned, this is what it means to be too passive and not engaging your opponent, and unless someone plays like this or worse then you shouldn't complain. This was only 10 rounds and it took over 10 minutes to complete with low ap. Notice how Randy doesn't complain, he just wins. Compare that to my previous upload of 50 rounds with languid which was only 24 minutes. I've had to fight this guy plenty of times myself, including a 100 round match which lasted 2 AND A HALF FUKN HOURS. And that my friends is the sort of stuff you have to deal with when you make a name for yourself on an online game and every player wants to take a crack at you.
Fallen Angel actually has the nerve at the end to ego Randy and tell him that he circled the whole time, and that he would have beaten him if he had played the way Randy did, lol. Also watch as the GM gets confused with who won the match at the end. Score was 10-0. Thank you Randy.
