If you're a guitarist wanting to add vocals to your projects, but you're not confident in your abilities, I will review recording tips I use for my own projects. Everything from imagining yourself as your favorite singer, using autotune, and more!

These details are provided for your information. You should tailor the settings to your voice, but these hopefully will give you a starting point or at least know what is going on under the hood. Thresholds will vary, for example, as it will depend on how hot the signal is coming into your microphone. Your Threshold is how much of the signal is being affected.

Piano roll notes set to scales notes I sang.
Detection: 40 - 2000 Hz / Gate -80 dB / Speed 6
I tuned the settings to match performance of the two examples.
(Weak) Correction: Threshold 600 cents / Amount 82% /
Attack 106 ms / Release 1 ms
(Confident) Correction: Threshold 600 cents / Amount 100% /
Attack 44 ms / Release 1 ms

Slay: 17.9 / Gain: 29.3 / Body: -3.6 / LoFi off

~ 2 dB cut at 0.6 kHz with 1.5 Bell curve
~ 3 dB cut at 0.86 kHz with 3.5 Bell curve

Ratio: Infinity (Limiting) / Slow Attack / Release: 0.10
Threshold: -9.5

Delay ms: 0=Tempo Sync (Which is 155 bpm)
Feedback: -10dB / Mix In -7dB / Output Wet: -6dB
Output Dry: 0 dB / Ping-Pong Width: 37%
Tempo Sync: 0.25 (my go-to, a quarter note)
