Soloing over the song 'Toxic' by Brittany Spears. Notice how I start it off by following the verse vocal melody, goin an octave higher, slightly embellishing it, and then taking the solo somwhere else completely. Most of the time when i write these solos, I try to have some element within the solo that relates it to the actual song, so it doesn't sound so random. Easiest way to do that is start it off with the actual voice melody.
