The Guardian newspaper put out a list of the 100 greatest novels—collated from the votes of 172 authors, critics, and academics.
In this video I look at the top 10 from the list and their Goodreads Ratings. Because of the way people use the platform, Goodreads ratings have a very small variance. The vast majority of books with a substantial number of reviews end up tightly clustered between 3.5 and 4.2. The average lies between 3.80 and 3.90, two of the critically acclaimed novels fell below 3.80.
