In 2004, military reporter Michael Jordan traveled to the US Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to file a series of reports for WSAV-TV 3/NBC Savannah. The stories included a look inside the detention facilities where the US government houses suspected Al Qaeda detainees swept up in Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world, as well as the Cold War-era defenses placed around the perimeter of the only US military base inside a communist country.
