This was originally meant to be a direct musical-style sequel to WAR. However, it ended up becoming something massively different due to this thought process: "Hmm, needs to be a bit more rock opera-ish" ... "Hey, you know what was a great rock opera? The Protomen. I should totally add some distortion for some Protomen-esque grit" ... "Oh god. Michael, I've made a HUGE mistake."
