In this video I talk a bit about why and how I grow plants with pumice as a media for semi-hydroponics. I prefer pumice over LECA because it's cheaper (for me) and holds roots better. I talk a little bit about the basics of semi-hydro growing and how I water, fertilize, and pH balance.
Semi-hydro is a great way to minimize the presence of fungus gnats, reduce root rot, control watering, etc. I'm able to grow pretty much any plant in pumice, monstera, alocasia, philodendron, peperomia, ferns, fiddle leaf fig. I really can't think of a plant I wouldn't be able to plant in pumice. Let me know if you have any questions as I likely didn't address every single detail about pumice growing!
