Grinding knife bevels is one of the most difficult skills in knife making. Lately blade smith Walter Sorrells has been turning over every rock trying to make bevel grinding easier. He's built a couple of tools that radically change your ability to grind crisp, attractive, functional cutting edges on knives. Freehand grinding is an important skill...but until you get there, it's great to have some help from a jig. Here, Walter shows two very different jigs that accomplish more or less the same goal.
