To close out this review of Grim Dawn: Fangs of Asterkarn, it is difficult not to see this expansion as a love letter to the fans who have stuck with the game for so many years. Crate Entertainment has packed a good amount of content into what is intended to be the game’s final expansion, giving veterans plenty of new reasons to return and spend even more hours grinding towards building those ultimate characters to overcome the new challenges. I am sure the game will continue to receive patches and improvements, but what is here at launch already feels like a fitting send-off for Grim Dawn. There is a good amount for Grim Dawn fans to sink their teeth into, so if you have already spent hundreds of hours in Cairn, now there is even more reasons to return for more adventures.

For those who have never played Grim Dawn, now is undoubtedly the perfect time to jump in. You have an enormous amount of content to work through, an incredibly deep character-building system, satisfying loot progression and that classic action RPG loop of killing monsters, finding better gear and immediately wanting to see just how much stronger your character can become. The base game and its expansions offer countless hours of addictive gameplay for a great price, and with Fangs of Asterkarn bringing Grim Dawn to what feels like its final form, I can fully recommend giving it a go. The expansion is great, but the whole experience is a fantastic action RPG that has only gotten better with age.
