On Friday, September 27, 7.6 million people took to the streets worldwide in what is now the largest demonstration for climate action in world history. With 500,000 pouring into the streets of Montreal alone, the Greenpeace team was on site to capture the moment Friday's for Future founder Greta Thunberg addressed the enthusiastic crowd of strikers.

In August 2018, Greta Thunberg began skipping school to sit outside the steps of Swedish Parliament every Friday to demand political leaders take meaningful action on the #ClimateEmergency. In just a few months, her action spread like wildfire through schools around the world in what has become the global Fridays for Future Movement. They will continue striking and will continue raising their voices until global business and political leaders listen to the science and take meaningful #ClimateAction. Visit fridaysforfuture.org to learn more and support the movement.
