1. According to Acts 17:24, 28; Psalm 50:12, does God need us to defend His word? Why or why not?
2. Is it really possible to go through life without any presuppositions? What presuppositions do non-Christians operate from?
3. In your opinion, is it ever okay to have “blind faith?” Explain.
4. Which objection to Christianity mentioned by Bahnsen do you think is most common today: historical doubt, scientific objection, moral disgust, logical incoherence, or religious pluralism? Why?
5. What makes reductio ad absurdum different from simply telling someone that his view is wrong?
6. Why would it have been futile for Paul to argue about facts without challenging the unbelievers’ philosophy of fact?
7. How would you respond to a non-Christian who claims that Christianity eliminates the possibility of doing science, since it allows the possibility of miracles?
8. How would you explain “the impossibility of the contrary” to a high school freshman?
9. Think of one person in your life who is ready to hear how the Gospel confronts his presuppositions, beliefs, and lifestyle. What next step could you take to commend and defend your faith to him or her in a future conversation?
