In 2003, Green Day had reportedly completed an album called Cigarettes and Valentines.
It was supposed to be their big punk-rock comeback after Warning.
Then the master tapes disappeared.
Not one song. Not a demo. The entire album.
Green Day’s official story is that somebody stole the tapes from the studio. But here’s the strange part: more than 20 years later, the complete album has never leaked.
For a lost Green Day record, that seems almost impossible.
So did somebody really steal it? Or did Green Day quietly decide the album wasn’t good enough?
