Rainbow Gardens
German Style Green Beans
Approximate Measurements, add more or less to your taste
1 1/2 to 2 Pounds Stringless Green Beans (snap beans)
1 Shallot
2 Slices Bacon
2 Teaspoons Browned *Irish Butter
1 Cup Chicken Stock
**1 tsp Dried Summer Savory ( Bohnenkraut )
Or 1 Tablespoon Fresh
Salt and Fresh Ground Black Pepper to taste


*If using butter other than Irish, be careful when browning as it may have a higher water content and tend to spit or splatter when heating.
** if using dried Savory, add it when you add the chicken stock.
