The Greco-Persian Wars are an extremely significant event in ancient history. Starting as a rebellion of Greek city-states, polis, in Asia Minor, this conflict grew into a full-scale war for independence, when the Persian Empire decided to invade Greece.

In this video we’re sharing the course of these devastating wars, explaining ancient strategy and some of the greatest battles of that time, like the Battle of Marathon gave birth to the sport of long-distance racing, or the Battle of Thermopylae, that went into history with the legend of the fearless Spartans led by King Leonidas.
