Using a version of the Cluster hack for the GH2 I tested the MotionJPEG in-camera recording. The resulting file is:
2048x1152 p 30
85 -100 Mbps.
Essentially all I-frame High bitrate JPEG.
Wow. I can now have image stabilized full HD with no crop.

Dropping this file into Premiere, I reduced the size till it just filled a 1920x1080 frame.
The video clip size is then 93.7%

Sort of makes the GH3 a bit less appealing except that the GH2 does not span the 2 GB file size limit. It will stop recording after about 2:30, depending on data rate.
