Great Smoky Mountains Railroad: #1702 Smoky Mountain Beer Run 7-1-2023.
On July 1, 2023, we ventured back to the mountains of North Carolina to visit Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (GSMR) to once again see the 1702. In addition to the railroads Nantahala Gorge excursion, the railroad ran a second excursion on the railroads Tuckasegee River excursion (also powered by the 1702). This trip was called the "Smoky Mountain Beer Run." In addition to just another 1702 run, this was a rare opportunity to see the 1702 at night.
