It's a common enough thing to hear advocates of Lost Ancient High Technology clai we couldn't build the Great Pyramid today. Therefore advanced lost ancient high technology.
However these claims are based on an image of the Great Pyramid that doesn't match the reality of the building. As well as facts presented by the likes of Christopher Dunn who paint a very cherry picked pictures fro "letters" he uses as evidence of his claims.
So let's put aside the issue of whether WE could do it and just ask could the Egyptian government do it? And do so without ruining their economy at the same time, diverting only a small portion of their annual budget to the project. 1.2% to be more exact, which is their military budget. Or more likely a portion of their military budget since it tends to be that many nations under sell just how much they are really spending in times of peace.
