eclipser2004 | Great Planes Cherokee ARF 40 Size RC Airplane Model Maiden Flight OS 55AX.MOV @eclipser2004 | Uploaded September 2012 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Terrible landing at 2:53. More of an arrival than a landing, actually. My first glow powered flight. Maiden flight Great Planes Cherokee 40 size ARF using an OS 55AX with a Slimline Pitts exhaust and a 12x7 APC propeller. Direct 20 kmh crosswind, as usual, just my luck. Needed 3 clicks of trim to the right. Went pretty well until the landing. This rc aircraft did not slow down as much as I expected it to with the flaps fullly deployed. I thought it would be a better slow speed airplane. No damage just bent 1 main gear leg back a bit. No breaks or cracks anywhere. Any landing you can use the airplane again is a good one, right? I will give it a more thorough testing on a day with less wind where I can land into the wind. Filmed, crappily, with an ebay 808 #16 HD keychain camera hat cam. www(dot)SJRCF(dot)com St. John's Radio Control Flyers
