Important announcement! We at the Talyllyn Railway, along with the other 11 narrow gauge members of Great Little Trains of Wales, have news this morning:
๐ We are to be rebranded imminently as Talyllyn Line
๐ Following the launch of Great British Railways (GBR) branding recently, our umbrella organisation, Great Little Trains of Wales, is now Great Little Welsh Railways (GLWR)!
๐ As GLWR members, to enable customer recognition and consistency, we are adopting the GLWR double arrows logo for all signage and branding
๐ All our locomotives are to wear the popular, standardised, โRail Blueโ livery. No exceptions
๐ฎ Staff and volunteer uniforms, based on the 1960s retro BR look, will be issued this season
๐ค๏ธ In line with policy and to enable full stock inter-compatibility, we will be regauging to the new GLWR standard narrow gauge of 1 ft 11 ยฝ inches, or more correctly, 597mm
๐ญ Liz Saville Roberts, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Heritage Rail (and MP for Dwyfor Meirionnydd) has been a great sport and backed the changes at our launch at the site of the new Boston Lodge Central Traincare Facility, being established near Porthmadog
