As humans have progressed so far as to have vast portions of the universe mapped out, having full knowledge of what is beneath their feet, they have turned their eyes to the invisible world of atoms and beyond. They smash, dismantle, and destory the very supposed fabric of space and time, with the goal of knowledge. With those same arms, they work to understand the fundamental building blocks of existence, to learn both the power of creation and destruction. The Large Hadron Collider is the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. It first started up on 10 September 2008 and remains the latest addition to CERN’s accelerator complex. Though this and other like literature exists about this complex, explaining it's mission, makeup, and methods, much is left to speculation about its actual purpose.
