This is the Great American Scream Machine (GASM) at Six Flags over Georgia. According to Wikipedia and RCDB.com, this roller coaster opened in April of 1973 as the worlds tallest and fastest roller coaster at 105 feet tall and 57 mph. It was designed by the Don Rosser and the legendary designers John Allen and William Cobb, and it was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan & Co. (PTC). This is an "out n' back" coaster design meaning that the roller coaster goes out to a point, turns around, and comes back to the station. This particular design allows for a lot of zero g when the trains go over the hills which is what we coaster enthusiasts absolutely love. Here are the rest of the stats from RCDB.com. Length, 3,450 feet, total ride time is about two minutes, and it's largest drop is 89 feet. I recommend riding in the front row as this is a wooden roller coaster. It is a bit rough but on par when compared to most other wooden roller coasters.
