Grease Medley

Grease is the classic, much-beloved story of Sandra Dee, the unattainable good-girl, and Danny Zuko, the debonair greaser, who show us what can happen when your summer fling unexpectedly shows up at your high school. Settle into your seats as we take you back to the 50’s (or 1978), and show you our version, where greasers wield trombones and not wrenches, and pink ladies actually wear concert blacks.
The medley begins with the titular “Grease”, and just like Frankie Valli says, “It’s got groove it’s got meaning”. Next we catch a glimpse of Danny and Sandy’s fair-weather fling in the impossibly catchy “Summer Nights”, as our unlucky lovers share details of their romance, and we can’t help but ask “tell me more, tell me more, was it love at first sight?” Whether or not it was love at first sight, it wasn’t forever, because soon we hear the soprano sax lament the heartbreak of being “Hopelessly Devoted”. Of course, while Sandy’s “heart is saying don’t let go”, Danny’s heart is beating in time with the infectious rock feel of Greased Lightnin’” as he declares “You are supreme, the chicks’ll cream for Greased Lightnin’”. This story wouldn’t be complete however, without the sappy conclusion, so in the end, love wins with Sandy’s declaration that “You’re the One that I Want”.
Whether or not you get chills from the soprano sax crooning about unrequited love, or you think the guitar is in fact, electrifying, we hope you’ll agree with us when we say this Dpops take on Grease is the one that you want.
