Virgin Australia has been the Official Wishgranting Partner for the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the past 7 years.
Each year we grant hundreds of wishes that involve travel and play an important role in uplifting the spirits of seriously ill children and their families at a time when they need it most.
Recently we helped to grant Starlight’s 10,000th Wish to a young man, 10-year-old Syel, who despite suffering from complex epilepsy, autism and having endured several brain surgeries, aspires to one day be sworn in as a man in blue. Virgin Australia had the pleasure of flying Sy and his family from Sydney to Melbourne to meet his hero, Sergeant Mick McCrann of Highway Patrol fame, before embarking on a once-in a-lifetime experience.
