Hiking to the Granite Mountain HotShots Memorial, where 19 firefighters lost their lives battling a wildfire in 2013. This sobering story is beautifully presented along a gorgeous but challenging trail winding through the mountains of central Arizona — and this state park is DEFINITELY worth stopping by, if you are anywhere in the area. It gives you an amazing perspective on what woodland firefighters do — and the risks they assume.
