Got this right as the clock changed over for the new year. Happy 2023!
Grinded for it for a few weeks. This session alone was about 5 hours. It's refreshing to play a Tetris game that's actually well made; NES Tetris is, frankly, a bit of a mess. I'm not quitting NES by any means, but it was so nice to fast forward a decade and play a Tetris game made when people were finally starting to figure out how to make it fun to play.
Shoutout to Kibi Byte for getting me into this odd little game, and for stealing that Nothing from my channel points store right at the end of the video and getting herself timed out. I don't think I'm done with TGM just yet. Next... GM on pure 20G speed?

Got it finally! Its been an eternal plateau, both because of a waning interest in the game and an ineffective practice approach.
Ive started hard-training roll mechanics, getting 5 tap consistency higher and higher, and pressure cooking myself only on 29 starts, not slowing down for long 18 sessions back in my comfort zone. I dont really know how to train or improve effectively so Im going to keep experimenting with methods for improvement. One big blind spot in my approach is that i rarely watch gameplay, my own or others, so I make weird moves and miss obvious placements.
I hope this improvement keeps up. Im tired of not having a rollover, and the Lonestar tournament is in three weeks, which Im going to.

God, I just... I’m not even sure what happened with that longbar at the end. I think it was an attempt at a wallcharge. I literally just needed a single and it would be a maxout.
Unofficially, I’ve scored 1,004,340 but I wasn’t recording, so... Now I’ve got to keep going. I’m getting that recorded maxout. Just you wait and see. It might be a while, though.

for real though, gotta stay optimistic. pb is pb two very high 1.1 games in the course of a few days is a really good sign for improvement. also, the pace in this game was WAY better than the first pb game.

This was the hardest choke of my life my heart was beating so fast that I felt like I was about to throw up. 1.2 million would have been nice, but I have all the time in the world :)
Ive felt like I was in a slump the past few weeks but I changed the conductive pads inside my controller and got this within the hour. Rolling is super precise and finnicky, so a slightly bad controller fundamentally affects performance.
I got the pads from https://www.totalradnes.com/ they are my favorite pads Ive ever had and required no break-in. This is not a promotion; I just really like them lol")

Holy mackerel. Im playing in the Classic Tetris World Championship silver bracket tomorrow (meaning the lower level tournament for people who didnt make it into the main event) and during the tech check to make sure the cameras and game capture were working properly, I 1.1ed.
The beginning was a little weird; I accidentally started on level 19, then reset and accidentally started on level 8 lol. But I pulled it together.")
