Staunton Castle is honored to introduce a unique masterpiece - The Cooke Series Staunton Castle pattern Chessmen. It is an identical recreation of the Jaques of London Chessmen Circa Nathaniel 1849 Cooke Staunton Pattern Chessmen.
These Chessmen innovations are 3.625" King with a 1.75" diameter base and are very densely weighted. This is an exact mirror image of the original boxwood and ebony Staunton castle chess wood. These hand-carved chessmen are produced with high grades of wood.
This excellent workmanship on the original knights was derived from 1806 by Thomas Bruce, 7th lord of Elgin Marbles. The superior detailed Knight head was the hallmark of Staunton Castle design.
The bases of these chess pieces are pasted with rich and deluxe billiard cloth base pads. The series is the perfect example of classic beauty and superior functionality to play games.
