Grand Admiral Ishin-Il-Raz made a name for himself during the Clone Wars as a young spokesman for the Commission for the Protection of the Republic. Their loyalty was to Chancellor Palpatine first and foremost, and Il-Raz happily retained his position as it shifted into the Galactic Empire. After seventeen years of service, he was promoted to the rank of Grand Admiral despite having no military experience. His appointment was heavily criticized, although never directly to Palpatine, and Il-Raz was allowed to keep his position. For six years his career was full of massacres and atrocities meant to gain him more favor in the Emperor’s eyes. After Palpatine’s death, Ishin became unstable, knowing that without his Emperor’s support, his days in power were also numbered. He flew his star destroyer into a nova, which killed him and his entire crew, ending his life in one final massacre. #starwars
