MattJ155 | Gran Turismo Beta Special Models @MattJ155 | Uploaded January 2019 | Updated October 2024, 10 seconds ago.
On the original Gran Turismo, many dealerships have special models, which are essentially race cars with high stats, making them great options for some of the toughest championships on the game, as long as the cars meet the entry requirements.
The dealerships that have these special models are: Mazda, Subaru, Nissan, Honda (Honda/Acura), Toyota, and Mitsubishi. There are other dealerships - Dodge (Chrysler), TVR, Aston Martin, Chevrolet - which don't have special models, but some do have 'prize cars' which are similar, such as the TVR LM Edition.
For the dealerships that do have special models on Gran Turismo, there is one car per dealership, which is available in two colour schemes. On Gran Turismo 2, some dealerships would have multiple special model cars, while some dealerships remained with no special vehicle at all.
This video shows you how these cars changed over the course of the game's development, starting from the Gran Turismo Test Drive Demo Disc, to Gran Turismo Trial Version, and then to the final, public release of the game. Some were completely changed, some changed a little, while others stayed mostly the same.
