Following our Operation Compass wargame, Ed returns to evaluate the long string of British theater and army commanders who served in the campaign for North Africa. He starts with the three principal theater commanders of Middle East Command--O'Connor, Auchinleck, and Alexander. Who will earn top marks? Then, Ed examines the generals who led the Western Desert Force (later organized at the 8th Army)--Wavell, Cunningham, Ritchie, Gott, and of course...Montgomery. Two of these generals earned "failing" grades from Ed!
