💡 Online Time Trial Game Mode in Retro Rewind FAQs:
1. This is a partially adapted version of the Online TT game mode in Retro Rewind in this episode. Since this recording, the full Online TT game mode has been fully integrated into Pulsar, and by extension now in Retro Rewind. Future episodes will support all of the major features including character swaps after track selection, finishing splits after completing your race and other QOL features. 2. Runs do not save in this game mode. If you get an overall PB, it technically will not count on TT leaderboards as it isn't set via CTGP and no ghost data is saved to be analyzed (people have already been cheating in a few lobbies). 3. Your "finishing time" and the time you see on the leaderboard can be off up to 1 frame (~.016/.017 I believe). From what I understand this is a Wimmfi/server related quirk. 4. If you see the finishing placement flash between placements after crossing the finish line (explaining some reactions I have after directly crossing the finish line), this game mode includes a code that allows you to see your updated placement as more racers cross the finish line before the final leaderboard is generated when the race concludes. 5. For those that have been asking, I would love to do a separate series to do a season 2 of the Online TT Lounge down the line if enough activity can support a full series; even at its peak activity a few years ago, after event ~30 or so general activity was significantly decreased. 6. I use an external input viewer to capture my controller inputs (I use the Gamecube controller). I use a software called Retro Spy that displays the input viewer's captured inputs. I chroma key the background of a input skin and made a custom layout in Photoshop to match the Retro Rewind theming of silver. 7. Abbreviations: IDB (inside drift bike), DNF (did not finish), UMT (ultra mini turbo for when karts had them enabled), RR World Record (the fastest known time in the Retro Rewind version of a track, "World Record" is denoted on its own for the 32 vanilla tracks. 8. Green text for either my series best or the competitor's series best means this was a new best made in the race you just watched. These are some fun stats we are keeping track of for the entire series and to give more context for the weight of the times achieved by all racers.

This was a nice test for practicing more of the strats I've tried offline and doing them under real race conditions. Definitely learned a lot more in this session and this session really delivered especially in the second half. More to come!

#MarioKartWorld #NMeadeits time I finally tried this...NMeade2025-08-16 | So far in Mario Kart World, my online racing experience is minimal. I have at least 200 hours of time trial in the game, and as of this video, only ~10 hours of combined online racing experience, half of which were for the first 5 episodes of FlounderFest. I need to finally get good and also be a better teammate for Troy for our events 😂 I finally started doing practice for online in the Mario Kart World Discord server where people host rooms primarily focusing on 3laps and not doing intermissions. I will be doing more of this!

#MarioKartWorld #FlounderFest #NMeadeNintendo DESTROYED Mario Kart World Time TrialsNMeade2025-08-02 | Nintendo released Mario Kart World Update V1.2.0 on July 29, 2025. Amongst the updates, a critical one was named "several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience." What would come after for the World Record Time Trial scene would be EVERY World Record beaten in the first 48 hours. Some tracks have already been pushed 1+ second past their pre-update time. It has been deemed that this changed the way certain landings work from ramps, gliders, and so on. I share my thoughts, and also my experience of absolutely destroying some runs and getting back on some Worldwide Top 10s and how playing the new update feels. We're lucky this happens 2 moths in and not 2+ years into the game... but anything is possible thanks to Nintendo!

#MarioKartWorld #FlounderFest #NMeadeReacting to EVERY World Record in Mario Kart World (Month 1)NMeade2025-07-09 | The 1st month of Mario Kart World time trial in the World Record scene has recently concluded. As of today's upload date, almost 2,000 World Records have already been driven in the game! Today we return for our Reacting & Analyzing series, going through every track, reviewing time cuts and providing commentary for discovery and progression made for every track in the scene. This game truly continues to deliver big time, and I can't wait to see what the rest of this year looks like for the scene.
As mentioned, this recording was done on July 7, 2025. As a result, some of the records are actually performed on either July 6 or July 7, but the infographics on the screen specifically is after day 1 on June 5, 2025, after week 1 on June 12, 2025, and after month 1 on July 5, 2025.

#MarioKartWorld #NMeadeWe are SAVING Mario Kart World OnlineNMeade2025-07-07 | FlounderFest returns with myself and Troy for Mario Kart World! Nintendo doubled down on intermissions for online play, but we're saving it keeping the 3lap racing Mario Kart spirit alive. We are teaming up for the first time in FlounderFest in 16 race events, 4 teams of 6, with the 30 original tracks allowed and 200 intermissions BANNED except for 2 that were voted by community members. This was my first real online session outside of a few beginner races on the first/second day but this was such a blast already. Nintendo cooked so good on the original tracks and we want to race them 3laps as standard. We hope you enjoy the return of FlounderFest, and our first season for Mario Kart World specifically.

#MarioKartWorld #FlounderFest #NMeadeHow I Got the Whistlestop Summit World RecordNMeade2025-07-06 | This is the story of getting an almost impossible World Record on Whistlestop Summit in Mario Kart World. When piecing this together, I still cannot believe the chain of events that preceded me converting successfully for World Record here. I think many parts of this story is relatable to anyone in their own speedrunning journey, from a beginner to a seasoned competitor. The ending to this story is so satisfying and I am glad that I can look back on this in the future to see that I did not give up on my goal. I hope you all enjoy this.

Original description: I am going to have another video for the whole journey this was to get my first World Record in Mario Kart World. For now, this track is insane with all of the strategies that have been discovered so far and has been a very challenging track to adapt to. I would enter top 3, another new strategy... get 2nd place, another new strategy... but we did it! Live on stream! I'm so happy to get my first World Record in so many years. I may update this description later with some more info, but for now, I'm glad to get a bit of rest before more grinding.Reacting to EVERY World Record in Mario Kart World (WEEK 1)NMeade2025-06-13 | If you thought the initial discoveries for Mario Kart World on day 1 were insane enough, one WEEK has been both shocking and outright MASSIVE for basically every track in Mario Kart World. If your reference point is the day 1 WRs we watched, you'll be excited for this. And if this is your FIRST introduction to this game, I can't think of a better showcase of the game, but also foreshadowing the grand potential it has long term with its mechanics. Next time we do this, we'll be going through the first MONTH of progress and continue to capture the essence of the scene from the very beginning. These records were recorded on June 12, 2025. If you want tips for every track, I would definitely recommend watching my timesheet video next after this.
#MarioKartWorld #NMeadeTips for Playing EVERY Track in Mario Kart WorldNMeade2025-06-10 | I completed time trials for all tracks in Mario Kart World! I give the scoop on what playing each track is like with their different vehicle combos and shortcuts/strategies, along with tips for every track. Nintendo did so good with virtually all tracks, but still questionable with how some parts of tracks work (ending lip tricks on Boo Cinema anyone?). Even still, I'm so excited to give a longer grind to a few particular tracks now and see what I can do now that I gave things a go for each track.
#MarioKartWorld #NMeadeMario Kart Worlds STRANGE Time Trial ModeNMeade2025-06-07 | There are some strange, questionable changes/decisions by Nintendo for Mario Kart World's Time Trials game mode. There are also some great things that they did as well! This is the initial scoop on aspects of Mario Kart World's Time Trials game mode. I hope some tasteful changes can come as updates in the future by Nintendo. I look forward to completing my time trial timesheet for Mario Kart World and sharing my initial impressions/thoughts for time trialing the game.

#MarioKartWorld #NMeadeMario Kart World - Acorn Heights - 2:01.271 by NMeade (3rd Worldwide)NMeade2025-06-07 | Finally started to sit down to do some active time trials for Mario Kart World! This is my favorite track, having many similarities for theming and gameplay for my favorite Mario Kart track, Maple Treeway. Managed 3rd Worldwide while streaming last night with the small wall hit error lap 3 definitely costing 2nd place. Cannot understate how crazy Nanew's run already is for the strategies used and character/kart used. Definitely want to document some of my higher milestones of time trial for the game as they come. Hopefully will get a WR of my own in this game!

#MarioKartWorld #TimeTrial #NMeadeNMeades 2025 Time Trial Timesheet - Mario Kart 8 DeluxeNMeade2025-06-04 | Finally got this all put together! What an experience it was to start to delve into learning time trial for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Had a fair amount of takeaways as a beginner player for the game, and excelled fairly well on a couple of the tracks for the level of time investment. Compared to what you are used to for me with Mario Kart Wii, I think this is a very relatable take on the process of starting new speedrun endeavors for a new game with the highs and lows! Definitely taking much of what I was reminded of and learned for the release of Mario Kart World tomorrow. I will eventually complete a full time trial timesheet for every Mario Kart game and make more videos like these. I hope this holds you over until Mario Kart World's release!
#MarioKart8Deluxe #NMeade #TimeTrialsMASSIVE GAINS - Road to 30,000 VR - Online Time Trial #14NMeade2025-06-03 | I hope you enjoy this MASSIVE triple episode in one. I had every intention of making these our normal ~30 minute segmented episodes, but had delays during the month of May. I didn't want this footage to become much older with the release of Mario Kart World. This way when we play more events in the future, it will still be as close to real time when uploading to YouTube! This was quite the mega session, massive VR gains, highs and lows and tons of hilarious moments with plenty of maniacal laughs. I hope you enjoy this massive video.

#MarioKartWii #NMeade #OnlineTimeTrialMENTALITY - How to Break World Records in SpeedrunningNMeade2025-04-19 | I've wanted to make this video about mentality in speedrunning and achieving World Records for the longest time. I succeeded at the highest level of speedrunning with time trial in Mario Kart Wii, and in that time I will always remember the growing pains of not getting where you want to be. It can feel fleeting knowing what potential you have but you can't quite capture it. It is my hope that any part of this can be helpful for someone who is trying to exceed at a high level in speedrunning for the first time, setting their own World Records, or maybe you've been out of it for a while and need an extra push to get yourself in the zone again. Everything discussed today can be applied for anyone, no matter what your goal is with what is most meaningful to you, and in the end, that is what matters the most. I would love to hear feedback of other speedrunners if they relate to any part of these aspects of mentality, what drives them or other frameworks they've used to help them succeed at the highest level. Thank you for watching.

#MarioKartWii #NMeade #OnlineTimeTrialReacting to ALL World Records in Mario Kart DSNMeade2025-04-12 | Today we are reacting to ALL World Records in Mario Kart DS! These are the overall 3lap World Records compiled by youtube.com/@UCe6QHkeY-pJZGggRBLYaYNQ for all of us to enjoy. It has been a long time in the works and I am so thoroughly pleased and impressed by the current state of MKDS at the highest level of gameplay. As I have started to time trial MKDS recently myself, I always understood beforehand how hard this game has to be, but after playing myself this is EASILY a Top 3 hardest Mario Kart to master. MKDasher and Taiga have continued their rampage and rivalry which has been exciting to watch. I plan on doing this for all of the Mario Kart scenes to give them all their chance to shine and see what each Mario Kart offers at the highest level. Resources, videos and channels mentioned during this video will be referenced below. You will eventually see my own MKDS gameplay for a future long term project I am working on for all of the Mario Karts. For now, enjoy this showcase of ALL World Records in Mario Kart DS!
#MarioKartDS #MarioKartWorldRecord #NMeadeWhat Will World Records Look Like in Mario Kart World?NMeade2025-04-11 | World Records in Mario Kart World have so much potential for what this game is slated to function. Beyond typical three lap time trials on Mario Kart World tracks for World Records, there could easily be different categories: 1 lap, 3 lap, customized lap count, time trialing rallies in Mario Kart World and even a full World Map Rally speedrun as a category for competing for the World Record. I can't wait to see what we will find out regarding this during Mario Kart World's dedicated Nintendo Direct that is premiering April 17th, 2025. It will be available on the same day of Nintendo Switch 2 release on June 5th, 2025.

This preview session involves two events, 6 teams of 2 players, 6 races per event. The 6 race format was a lot of fun and you can feel the weight of each race mattering a lot more compared to other race count formats. We divluged some details during this video, and we have a lot more details planned for when this starts. We hope you enjoy this! And enjoy my derusting of playing this format for my first time in multiple years.

This week we combine BOTH Online Time Trial and Knockout Mode! This has been a wish of mine for a few years now for both of these game modes being able to be combined. I went through every 150cc Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Record back in March 2023 for the very first time on the channel. Since then, I've started doing time trials for this game and I'm looking forward to doing some more MK8DX videos on the channel this year. With that said, it was about time we go through these again, especially for the fact that the first time we did this, not all of the DLC tracks were out yet. This really delivered! I hope you all continue to enjoy watching these. I recorded this during the last week of December 2024 as we head in the 2025 year of Mario Kart.
Congratulations to all the competitors that grind for their times up to and including the highest level for the WRs. I've included the videos referenced as well as other recommended videos/playlists and MK8DX resources after the time stamps section for you all to check out.
#MarioKart8Deluxe #MarioKartWorldRecords #TimeTrials200cc Online Time Trial is AMAZINGNMeade2024-12-30 | We tackle all of the Mario Kart Wii nitro tracks we know and love as we progress more into the Retro Rewind all cup tour. We do so on 200cc online time trials! I don't think this has been combined before prior to Retro Rewind (unless you stacked game modes in Riivolution). I still can't believe how fun this was especially with the risky strats you can go for that can net significant time save or completely ruin your placement and end up in last. We had to be really balanced about the risks we decided to take in this making it an amazing episode!
💡 Online Time Trial Game Mode in Retro Rewind FAQs:
1. This is a partially adapted version of the Online TT game mode in Retro Rewind, so for now, we are not able to change our vehicle after a track is selected. For now, we'll be maining Funky/Flame Runner and not using Daisy/Mach, Funky/Spear or Toadette/Magikruiser for those respective tracks. With the newest update of Pulsar, the full Online TT game mode is anticipated to come to a future Retro Rewind update. 2. Runs do not save in this game mode. As we climb higher, eventually some lower placements are going to net some decent VR loss, so we are going to need to really crank up the consistency long term to see out our goal. I have maybe 20-30% of the tracks in Retro Rewind left at this point to grind out to be fairly competent at them. Hopefully we make some great progress into the new year!

A LOT has been done during this year and I think this has been one of the most exciting years to reflect on. I included a few alternative categories this year by high request as well as a bonus one for Rainbow Road which I thought was very worthwhile to highlight.
Congratulations to the entire playerbase for their accomplishments and continuing to grind towards their goals. I mentioned this during the commentary, but it has been incredible to see the average performance and skill level of the entire playerbase raise with this especially being reflected in the progression of the Worldwide Top 10s compared to previous years. I think the scene is in a very good spot and there is a lot of potential for 2025 to be a fantastic year overall. Good luck to everyone for their continued efforts!
Lastly, as you can see I included more detailed stats and extra details to make the viewing experience more engaged and enjoyable. To that end, there was a TON of text to manually write out on my end (creating individual Photoshop assets, typing every individual Worldwide Top 10 to be generated, etc). There's probably the rogue typo here and there but hopefully everything is accurate! I hope you enjoy this one.

#MarioKartWii #NMeade #OnlineTimeTrialReacting to EVERY 200cc World Record in Mario Kart 8 DeluxeNMeade2024-12-07 | Today we take a deep dive into the 200cc Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Record scene for the first time. I went through the 150cc Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Records close to 2 years ago in March 2023 and always wanted to see what the 200cc scene had going on. I have done my own time trials as a beginner for MK8DX since 2023 but primarily on 150cc. I look forward to completing my own 200cc time sheet after watching through all of these!
Congratulations to all the competitors that grind for their times up to and including the highest level for the WRs. I look forward to improving to a more competent level for MK8DX in the future and will share my own progress for this game during next year. For now, I hope you enjoy this! I've included the videos referenced as well as other recommended videos/playlists and MK8DX resources after the time stamps section.
#MarioKart8Deluxe #MarioKartWorldRecords #TimeTrialsAnalyzing & Reacting to 200cc World Records in Mario Kart Wii!NMeade2024-12-05 | I've been wanting to do this the past 1-2 years but never got around to doing it until now. I did a lot of 200cc time trials right when it released in CTGP years ago, but I've rarely time trialed 200cc since then. I've seen the occasional 200cc WR in a video but I haven't watched or have been aware of most strategy changes (intentionally so whenever I eventually got a chance to do this video it'd be the most genuine reaction to seeing things for the first time). As you will see, there's something completely new to me for almost every track! This was a ton of fun to go through, and if you have enjoyed the prior WR videos, you'll enjoy this one.
I went through the most common 200cc category of each track for this video. Some tracks had upwards of 3 (to 4 on some iirc?) categories with some not played nearly as much as the others. If there's enough interest, I would be up to go through the glitch and alternative categories (as some of the other categories I saw were marginally 1-2 seconds faster or slower). Maybe I'll do a 200cc time sheet video too sometime in the future, that'd be a lot of fun to go through. For now, I hope you enjoy this!
If you enjoy 200cc Mario Kart Wii World Records, I'd recommend checking out the CTGP 200cc Records channel as well so you can watch more and see when new records are set:
#MarioKartWii #MarioKartWorldRecords #TimeTrialsAre Outside Drifting Karts Actually Better than Inside Drifting Karts?NMeade2024-12-03 | This week in the Retro Rewind all cup tour we take on the GBA tracks utilizing karts on inside drift. After this session I'm still a bit undecided! Inside drifting karts are really fun to use and have their advantages for racing and evading items but the same can be said for staying with outside drift for karts. This was a great one, we hope you enjoy this episode!
