Betaflight 4.4.x has better, more advanced GPS return home functions now (it can even land they say). When I wanted to try this out on my new Foxeer Aura7, I found the GPS RTH flight pretty weird, not very confidence building! It moves rapidly up / center / down.
Betaflight website even has this under "known issues"!

And as you see here, having a faster GPS update rate really solved my issue! Hope this helps someone out there!
